January is election time for our Association. The election of Officers and the Board will be held at the January 16, 2019 General Meeting and we encourage you to consider being a candidate and following in the footsteps of those who have made our Village what it is today.
The Association’s Board monitors City and State issues such as mansionization and general development, follows state legislation that impacts our property values, and monitors the many issues related to embracing inevitable change in a way that retains our precious Village way of life. We also organize events such as the July 4th Parade, and endorse the annual World Fair at Colfax school, monitor the remodeling projects at both Colfax and North Hollywood High schools and much more. And we get the word out about neighborhood news and meetings through our quarterly newsletter, The Valley Villager.
The residents of Valley Village need to maintain the strength of our political influence and independent voice. City officials are receptive to our concerns, thus we are focused on maintaining an Association of interested and involved members who will work to ensure the enviable quality of life we all enjoy. We do hope you will consider running for a seat on the Board.
Serving on the Board is a two-year commitment. Board meetings are held six times a year. Membership meetings are held four times a year. Nominees must be paid-up members of Valley Village Homeowners Association and be willing to serve.
If you are interested in becoming an Officer or At-Large Board member or would like to nominate someone, please leave a message at 818-506-5158.
For prospective candidates, there will be a Meet-and-Greet get-together this Sunday, December 2nd from 2pm to 4pm (please email at firstname.lastname@example.org for the meeting’s location). The Board members will be present to explain the work of the Association in greater detail and field questions.
If you would like to attend, we will be in touch with you and provide the address. We do hope you will come join us and be a part of the team!
